Toxic parenting in Black communities... let's do better. 💔
Toxic parenting in immigrant communities has to stop. We make excuses for behaviour we would never tolerate from others. We are called to love and respect our parents, but it's still a responsibility to keep them accountable for mistreating children. No one should get a pass just because they've had a hard life. NO ONE.

    Hi!!! I had to subscribe because more information about Sickle Cell Disease needs to be circulated! I've been following Dr. Charlie Ware and Tamika Moseley for some years now and I purchase his Evenflo, Chlorophyll and Super Juice Blend especially for my daughter that is 25 years old now. I have been so preoccupied with my daughter because she was hospitalized Jan.6, 2024 for pain and had a blood transfusion that really didn't make her feel too much better or give her energy. She ended up being diagnosed with Biliary Dyskinesia because of excruciating stomach pain that developed after being discharged. They wanted to remove her gallbladder but we decided to not have that done and do a strict Alkaline Diet and she also did Dr. Bobby Price's 14 Day full body Herbal Detox. She's not having the pains so far and bowel movements and color of them look normal. Anyway, I saw that Dr. Charlie Ware had TWO WEBINARS! I missed them! I saw your name in the description of his video and I looked your name up and assumed it was you because you have the Sickle Cell trait and your daughter has the disease. I really wish I could have joined the Webinar that I missed!!!! Anyway, I have been doing most of the things that you are doing with your daughter but when a pain crisis comes, it's just going to come. My daughter has SC Sickle Cell Disease & they say it's a MILD form of the disease but there is nothing MILD about her pain crisis when it is happening. This was a great video and you have such a nice personality. Keep spreading these videos with these gems! 😍😍😍

      @CiCiMoya 2 місяці тому

      Thanks for your honesty, but what I will say is that you would have to look beyond just the words the mother used. The whole interaction comes from a place of negativity or hurt/trauma... We're so used to this that some of us don't even see the wrong in it which makes me very sad. But like someone else said new generations can have a trained eye to spot where we should improve on what we learned from our parents because most of them simply didn't know better

    • @CiCiMoya
      @CiCiMoya 2 місяці тому

    We are so focused on being the victim these days that everything is “trauma.” Everyone is an armchair psychiatrist now. I get so tired of hearing everybody throw around some new psychology term they just learned like they are an expert and now they label anything as negative. As a former child protection worker, I will continue to call not feeding kids, emotionally berating or verbally/physically/medically abusing kids exactly what it is. Telling my child to better himself or look presentable instead of like a thug is NOT abuse or disrespect.

      As a Caribbean child I understand what this feels like.The reality is as parents we need to know it’s Not What we say is how we say it. We tend to consider other people feelings when talking to them about bettering themselves but talk to our children like TRASH. Why couldn’t it be in a manner of up lifting him by telling him how important he is to first himself and then to her. Why does it have to be in a berating manner. These words came from a place of wanting him to do what she say instead of guiding.

    • @JustineEllushon

    Even black American parents justify this mistreatment bc they hold the status of parent. They don’t consider the actual definition of respect, as a part of respect. Respect is earned, not honorary. Treat me like a human…and parents need to stop acting like their job of being a good parent is optional. You don’t get to have babies (for yourself consciously or consciously) and then tell your responsibility, oh you should respect me because ai had you. Try telling your bill collector that. You made the obligation, now you deal with it. You don’t get extra points for that. Smh. Your reward in the end is, if you invested in the child, they will reinvest in you when you are old. That’s it. Pay attention to the exchange of energy bc we do.

    Lessons could be learned from an immigrants parents struggle. Some of those parents (like the mom in the video) is most likely acting out of fear that her child will forget that. I’ll say it if no one else will - lots of Caribbean parents see the negativity and downright degradation that is happening in the Black American community and they don’t want their kids to end up like that. I have SS. When i was 11 a doctor told me I would die by 13. I'm 24 now and can say I live a fairly healthy life inspite of sickle cell. I'm taking my folic acid everyday, I gym 5 times a week with moderation of course. I recently had a guy break up with me because of sickle cell. It hurts but I'll be okay. I'm a warrior. Its possible to live a normal life with SS. DON'T GIVE UP

    Hi good day, I’m a new mom with a 1 year old that was diagnosed with the disease, few weeks ago we had an encounter with being admitted to the hospital for low blood and platelet count, dactylitis and also an enlarged spleen. It was the scariest time of our lives. I’m here doing some research on how to prevent this from happening to him again because it was really scary and I don’t want this to happen to him again 😢He got blood transfusion too. What I wanna know is, if I get these stuff and start him with daily does he have to continue taking the Amoxil daily? Please I’m looking for some answers on how to have my baby live a healthy pain free life.

      Antibiotics shouldn"t be given daily especially for children because it destroys the gut and weakens the immune system. Instead get natural antibiotics like garlic, oregano, echinacea etc

      Hi Maxime, I'm so sorry to hear about the emotional stress that experience has caused you and your family! In my experience, I chose to replace the prescribed antibiotics with natural alternatives like vitamin C every day and probiotics. If he has an infections, you can buy this supplement to help fight off quickly: VIRID-Jr healingblendsglobal.com/?ref=cmlink
